Are you having a flashback to the 80s right now? "Pretty in Pink" is one of my mom's all time favorite movies. Go out and rent it if you have not seen it. But, the pretty in pink I am talking about is the pink for breast cancer research. Some of my friends at work are doing a breast cancer walk and they have to raise a TON of money so I donated some pink frames for them to sell. Each one I did is just a basic Michael's wooden frame. I painted the edges a light pink. Then I used some 3 in 1 wet glue to adhere a piece of paper to the front side. I used an exacto knife to cut out the middle. Then I just added some words and embellishments. These are just a few of them. I believe they are selling them for $10 a piece. I can make one for you too and donate the money to their great cause. Pink never looked so good!

Just Have to Love Target
I am normally such a stickler for grammar and punctuation but, this year, Target's Valentine's Day line changed my mind. (At least for this layout.) They had these frames and cups that had random letters of the alphabet in black and then "i love u" in red. It gave me the inspiration for this layout about my Valentine. I used a white sheet of cardstock and covered it with a piece of paper from KI Memories called Perm Black. I have had it for years and I was never really sure how to use it. It reminded me of all of the black lettering I saw at Target so I went with it. Of course, I added the red title and left a white frame around the picture. The whole layout is really simple, but there is a lot to look at too. And I finally did a scrapbook page - it has been too long!

Two is Twice the Fun
Last weekend, my mom, sisters, and I went to a baby shower for a friend of the family who is expecting twins. She is having one boy and one girl. I think this is a sweet deal! I wanted to do something for each of the babies, so I made them each their own frame to hang in the nursery. I used wooden frames from Kaiser Craft. First, I glued background paper to each one. Then I cut out their names and added a place for a photo to be added later. My mom and I had looked online at the baby accessories they wanted. Jacob's blankets and things had lots of animals so I cut out some fun animals for him. Makaylah's had lots of butterflies and flowers so I used some butterflies and made their wings pop off the frame. For each of them, I also found a quote that would add some fun to their frames. I used ribbon for a finishing touch. They will not be complete until the bundles of joy arrive!

Be Mine?
I have to admit - I am not a big fan of Valentine's day. It is the only holiday where people feel left out and that makes me sad. It is also the day I didn't get the ring! But still, there are people out there who I love so much and I just had to send them the perfect Valentine. Who better to help me than my Valentine, Joey. (She let me sleep in until 8 am today! Then my dad called to wake me up, but onl
y to tell me that Tim McGraw was going to be on Nascar next. Thank you Dad!) Joey had just gotten her haircut and she had some cute bows in her hair so she was definitely going to be in my cards. The thing with Joey is she knows that she is cute but she hates to pose for the camera. So I did the only thing I knew to do - bribe her. I put a milkbone on my head and snapped away. I love these pictures!
To make the card, I used some pink cardstock as a based and then cut out half of a heart to leave a peek a boo flap on the front. Then I covered the heart with a paisley print and drew dashed white lines around it. I used some K & Company pillow stickers around the heart and heat embossed, "be mine?" with some cherry scented embossing powder from Cornish Heritage Farms and Versa Mark ink.
I hope that you have someone to love today!

My Love Bugs!
Now anyone who knows me, knows how much I love being a teacher but sometimes my kiddos drive me crazy! But then I remember, they are just kids and this week is no exception. They are so giddy about Valentine's day. We had a yelling match today because an aunt and nephew in my class (I will explain later) were telling others what kinds of Valentine's they were bringing and it was supposed to be a secret. Ah, the day of love!
For my class, I made them their very own love bugs! I used the Cricut (as if) with the Walk in My Garden cartridge. The ladybugs are 5 inches in size. Then I cut out the wings with the blackout key and attached it to the ladybug with a heart brad. The heart paper is from Hobby Lobby. The circle inside is 4 and 1/2 inches. I stamped, "Be My Lovebug" in some red chalk ink. We will see what my lovebugs think of them tomorrow at our card exchange. I love watching them read each other's cards. Last year, I helped one of my boys sneak a box of chocolates into a girl's desk. Ah - I want to
be 9 again!

Happy Birthday Drew!
My good buddy Drew is turning 4 years old today! So hard to believe! I just called him to wish him a Happy Birthday and he told me, "Happy Birthday Holly!" So sweet! Well, Drew owns every car, truck, and four wheeled toy there is so for his big day I made him this John Deere blanket from two pieces of fleece. All you do it take two yards of each color, cut some fringe around the edges, and tie the pieces together. (Let me know if you want the instructions.) His grandpa owns a tow truck company so here is his very own tow truck! (The wild paper is from Scenic Route.)

Sew What?
I realize I have not posted anything in a while. It might have something to do with the fact that I have not scrapbooked in a long time. I cannot even remember the last layout I did - I will have to remedy that very quickly! So what have I been doing? Sewing of course! Last year, I discovered how to make ski caps with fringe on top and I made a few for my friends and their kids. Well, Miss Kate called me up one night and asked if I would make some for party favors for her sledding party. "Of course," I said. "How many do you need?" "Oh, about 23," she replied nonchalantly. Say what? I quickly asked to talk to her mom and she confirmed the number since the new thing is to invite everyone in your child's class. Okay! A few days later they decided, notice I said they, to add scarves to the mix. The hats were easier to make than the quick little scarves that kept jamming my machine and made me curse my bobbin but the party goers loved them and I guess they keep wearing them to school. Kate, though, has asked me that I make her some in several colors so they coordinate with her clothes. Oh Kate!!
