Happy Easter to my Peeps!

Like most people at this time of year, I love Peeps marshmallows.  So, when I saw this project at Dandelions and Lace , I knew I had to give it a try.  My first Peep was made using my sewing machine.  He did not turn out so well - those ears are tricky so he is now in "a better place."  These were all sewn together by hand, which took a lot longer but they are so cute.  Imagine a basket full of these on Easter morning.  Cute without the calories!  Happy Easter to all of you and thanks for your continued support!

Hoppy Easter

This Easter card was made using the Easter Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm.  I colored her with pencils and then added some fluff to the eggs in her basket.  I printed out the saying from my computer and layered some ribbon.  I think she might hop off the page.

Chicks

Just a quick Easter card.  (Sorry the pic is so bad, I took it at night before I mailed it.) The chicks are from Sandylion Clear Stamps.  I edged them with some Martha Stewart fluff.  The grass is some ribbon that I cut and glued down with tacky tape.  Then I cut out the saying with Simply Charmed.  A few more days to go!  I have some bunnies to go sew.  Stay tuned!

Disney Wedding

This picture is not the greatest, but this was a wedding shower card for a friend who goes to Disneyland a lot.  I cut out the two Mickey and Minnie heads using the Mickey Font.  (Minnie has a purple bow because that was the main wedding color.) To make the veil, I folded a small doilie and glued it behind the bow.  If I had to do this card over, I would have added a different background color so you could see the veil better.  The bow on the bottom was to add some more texture to the card.  Wedded Bliss!

Personalized Disney Albums

It is that time of year again when it seems like everyone is planning a Disney trip.  Don't forget an autograph book for your favorite characters to sign!
Last summer, I made a few of these for some friends so I used the same dimensions as before.  I made these using the Mickey Font and the Mickey and Friends font.  They are super easy to make, but better yet, order one from me.  Let me know what name you want on the book and what character you want too!  I leave lots of extra pages for pictures too!

Bunnies and Chicks

Here are a few ideas for Easter cards. I cut these out using the Simply Charmed cartridge. First I used all of the layer buttons to make the top of the cards. Then I cut out a solid background for each one to make the shapes into cards. The bunny folds at the top of her ears and the chick folds at the top of his head. On the inside, I stamped, "Happy Easter." Go get cutting!

ROAR!

Dylan's party was a jungle theme so I wanted to make him a lion card. I used the Create a Critter cartridge and cut out a huge lion at 5". Then I layered it with all of the layer features in the different colors. To make it a card, I cut out another solid lion and then I attached the two pieces together at the ears with some small strips of paper. None of my envelopes were big enough, so I stuck him coming out of the top of the gift bag. Time to go find really big envelopes. Happy Sunday!

Welcome Dylan!

This evening, we get to go and celebrate Dylan's arrival with the Mensay family. When Dylan's big brother arrived, I made him some onesies similar to these so I could not let Dylan down. First, I cut out 4" by 4" squares of fabric and ironed on Heat N' Bond to the back. Then I tried to cut the fabric with my Cricut. This was unsuccessful. I have watched so many videos and tried it some many ways. Instead of ruining more fabric and seeing how far my Cricut could fly, I used my old tried and true method. I cut out the shapes on paper first. Then I traced the designs on the paper backing and cut them out by hand. Peeled off the paper backing and ironed the shapes to the onesies. The umbrella was two pieces and so was the popsicle. I believe the umbrella and popsicle were from the Simply Charmed cartridge (adorable shapes) and the D was from Mickey Font. I love how these turned out and I cannot wait to see them on Dylan. Welcome little one!

If you like these, please check out my Etsy shop for some more. Or let me know what you would like for your little one.

Wedding Shower

One of our teachers at work, Melinda, got married recently and this card was made for the staff to sign for her wedding shower. (Thanks to the team member who asked me to make this!) I used the Paisley cartridge which has the umbrella. The background paper is from a card kit I bought years ago. I then cut a smaller blue cardstock to contrast the colors in the umbrella. The umbrella was first cut out in purple, Melinda's wedding color, and then layered on top with some of the patterned paper. I attached the umbrella to the card with some pop dots. Then I cut a flower out of the paper to attach to the middle of the umbrella. The word "love" is also from this same cartridge. I added the brown ribbon to tie it all together. Melinda immediately knew it was a "Holly" card. I guess that is a good thing!
